Holy Roar X
Holy Roar Records announces HRX: a mammoth twin-room, all-day celebration to mark ten years of championing the very best underground, independent and unashamedly loud music from the UK and beyond.
This summer marks 10 years since Holy Roar Records put out the unholy trinity of the debut Rolo Tomassi CDEP, Phoenix Bodies’ seminal ‘Raise The Bullshit Flag’ and the cult split 12” between avant-doomers Bloody Panda and Kayo Dot.
Between then and today the label has gone on to have over 150 releases, including acts such as Gallows, Trash Talk, Throats, Brutality Will Prevail, Touche Amore, Desolated, Make Do And Mend, Pulled Apart By Horses, More Than Life, Bongripper, Conan, Coliseum, Danananananaykroyd, Cutting Pink With Knives, Devil Sold His Soul, Down I Go, Maths, Gallops, Full of Hell, Goodtime Boys, Hang The Bastard, Last Witness, Strife, This Is Hell, The Ghost of a Thousand and many more. Quite something for one man, remaining 100% independent, without any financial backing.
Amongst a year of celebrations, we will mark this passing of time with Holy Roar X – a two stage, one-day event across The Dome and Boston Music Rooms in Tufnell Park, London. Headlined by Rolo Tomassi, ably supported by Departures, Hang The Bastard, Giants and many many more, the day will be supported by Metal Hammer, Radio 1 Rock Show and features stalls from Holy Roar and Big Scary Monsters as well as food from Howards Meat Co. and V-Revolution. Tickets are just £15. If this isn’t a celebration, then we don’t know what is.
Rolo Tomassi, Hang The Bastard, Departures, Slabdragger, GIANTS, Apologies, I Have None, OHHMS, The Long Haul (one-off reunion), Employed To Serve, Svalbard, Up River, Body Hound, We Never Learned To Live, Meek Is Murder, Haast's Eagled, Eulogy, Helpless, more TBA
