Speedy Ortiz ‘Indoor Soccer’
Hailing from Massachusettes, this fascinating band are making waves on the underground scene over the pond. With schizophrenic song structures and the strange presence of enigmatic frontwoman Sadie Dupuis, Speedy Ortiz have recently released a 5 track EP called ‘Sports’ (nothing to do with Huey Lewis’s classic album of the same name). At some points summery and full of hope, the next moment sneering, angry and intimidating, the collection of songs are strong and varied. ‘Indoor Soccer’ is ominous, catchy, loud and quiet and is the perfect introduction to an intriguing band. Ones to watch from afar.
